Cabinet, Drawer & Wardrobe Repairs in Perth

Loose cupboard doors, drawers that bind and wardrobe panels that leave their guides need different checks. We assess the existing cabinet or wardrobe and its fittings before recommending adjustment, compatible hardware or a separate replacement scope.

What we check on site

A dropped cupboard door needs more than tightening

Repeatedly loose screws

Cupboard screws may loosen because fixing holes are worn, the mounting plate moves or the door is misaligned. Damaged particleboard may no longer hold the screw. The surrounding material needs checking before the same screw is tightened again.

Hardware or cabinet material

Replacing a worn hinge can help only if its mounting points remain suitable. Crumbling, split or moisture-swollen board changes that decision. We separate hinge replacement, fixing repair and panel work in the scope after assessing the cabinet.

Drawers and wardrobe doors coming off their tracks

A kitchen drawer that will not close when loaded may have a runner or alignment fault. A wardrobe door scraping its bottom track can indicate guide, roller or support problems. Mention whether the symptom occurs empty or loaded without removing an unstable panel.

Recurring drawer derailment

A drawer may leave its runners when guides are worn, fixings move, alignment is wrong or the drawer itself is damaged. Load can expose an existing weakness. Refitting the drawer alone will not repair an incompatible or failing runner system.

Replacement runners in older cabinetry

An older cabinet can accept new runners only where the dimensions, side clearance and mounting surfaces suit the replacement. Soft-close systems may require different clearances. Matching compatibility is more useful than choosing parts by appearance alone.

A kitchen door fallen from its hinge or screws stripped from particleboard needs the loose door supported safely and the damaged area assessed. Do not keep tightening a failing screw; record the affected fittings and avoid forcing the door.

Service scope and quote details

Cupboard hinge repairs and damaged fixing points

Tell us which door drops, rubs or pulls away from its mounting plate. The hinge, plate, screws and material around the fixing holes all matter. Tightening a screw repeatedly may not help when the fixing hole or surrounding board is damaged. We check alignment and the fixing condition before agreeing the repair.

The existing cupboard hinge and cabinet-door alignment example shows a hinge repair. It does not show wardrobe roller work. Keep any loose parts for assessment and avoid forcing a door with an unstable hinge.

Drawer Runner Replacement & Adjustment

A drawer that tilts, jams or comes off its travel may have a worn runner, damaged fixing or another alignment problem. Share which drawer is affected and whether it catches when empty or loaded. Runner length, side clearance, mounting position and the drawer condition affect compatibility; soft-close and ordinary runners are not automatically interchangeable.

Our Southern Corridor drawer case shows the drawer before and after damaged runners were replaced. For a similar repair, we check your runners, drawer and cabinet before recommending the parts and work. Related: Southern Corridor drawer runner replacement

Wardrobe Door Repairs: Hinges, Rollers & Tracks

Wardrobe door repairs start with the panel type. Hinged panels need hinge and clearance checks; sliding panels need guides, stops, tracks and rollers considered together. Mirrored panels also need their condition and safe handling assessed. Do not force or lift out a loose mirrored door to prepare for a visit.

Tell us whether the problem is one panel, several panels or the surrounding cabinet. If a product label or model is available, share it. A patio glass slider uses different hardware and should be assessed through external sliding door repairs.

Keep the cabinetry or plan replacement?

Repair may suit sound cabinetry with local hardware or fixing damage. Moisture-swollen board, extensive damage, unavailable fittings or a proposed layout change can alter that decision. We explain the condition found and whether a repair is practical before work proceeds.

New fitted storage or a redesigned kitchen belongs with cabinet makers. Flat-pack assembly is a separate task for a new supplied kit. Cabinet repair does not automatically include painting, matching panels, replacement doors or an upgraded runner system.

Getting a repair assessment and quote

A sagging kitchen door, a drawer that will not close and a mirrored wardrobe panel that catches each need their own description. Tell us the number of affected fittings, access restrictions and your suburb. Photos and approximate dimensions are optional; product details can help identify compatible parts.

The written quote confirms repair or replacement fittings, who supplies them, removal and disposal, and any finish work. Parts availability and matching finishes need confirmation. Read the cupboard hinge and drawer runner guide for useful observations. Rental and strata work requires approval from the authorised property contact.

Cabinet and wardrobe repair FAQs

Can stripped cupboard hinge holes be repaired?

We check the hinge, mounting plate, fixing holes and surrounding cabinet material first. A local repair may suit sound cabinetry, while swollen or extensively damaged board can change the options. The repair method and any replacement fittings are agreed after assessment.

Can you replace a drawer runner with soft-close hardware?

Runner length, mounting positions, side clearance and drawer condition must suit the proposed hardware. Soft-close parts are not a universal replacement. Share the product details if available; we confirm compatibility, parts and any extra work before quoting an upgrade.

Do sliding wardrobe doors use the same parts as patio sliders?

No. Wardrobe guides, stops, tracks and rollers need checks for that panel system. Mirrored panels also require condition and handling assessment. Do not force an unstable panel or buy replacement rollers until the system and compatible parts are identified.

Will a repair include new cabinet panels or disposal?

We explain any new panels, replacement cabinetry, finish matching and disposal needed for the repair. Your written quote lists the agreed repair work, supplied parts, removal and disposal, with separate charges clearly identified.

Why do cupboard hinge screws keep coming loose?

Worn holes, a moving mounting plate or misalignment can repeatedly load the fixings. Damaged board may not hold the screw. We check the hinge and mounting material together so the repair addresses the cause.

Should I replace the hinge or repair the cabinet panel?

The hinge condition and the strength of its mounting points decide this. A sound panel may suit compatible replacement hardware; damaged board needs its own repair assessment. We explain the options before the work is agreed.

Why does a drawer keep coming off its runners?

Worn guides, loose fixings, alignment or drawer damage can cause recurring derailment. Tell us whether it happens when empty or loaded. The drawer and both runners need checking rather than simply putting it back on its tracks.

Can new drawer runners fit an older cabinet?

Sometimes. We check runner length, clearance, mounting positions and cabinet condition against the proposed replacement. Soft-close and ordinary runners are not automatically interchangeable; any modification or upgrade needs separate agreement.
