Assembling flat-pack beds, desks and storage furniture
A small desk, a bed frame and a tall storage unit can require different space, lifting and fixing arrangements. Share the product name or model and quantity if known. We check the manufacturer's assembly instructions and identify any separate wall attachment or extra materials before work starts.
Furniture assembly is distinct from repairing an existing cupboard or fitting a complete kitchen. For loose hinges and drawers, use our cupboard repair service. IKEA kitchen installation has a separate scope, including assessment of any trade connections.
Furniture delivery, parts and assembly instructions
Access to the room and furniture
Tell us where the furniture packs are, where the finished furniture will stand, and about stairs, lifts and parking. We agree any pack movement, unpacking or existing-furniture movement with you before the visit and plan the working space needed for assembly.
Check instructions and hardware
Keep the instructions, fittings and delivered packs together. If parts are damaged or missing, the assembly may need to pause while compatible replacements are obtained. Tell us about an opened pack or partly assembled item so we can allow for checking it. We do not assume substitute fixings will suit a product.
Wall anchoring and the finished position
After assembly we check the furniture's operation, fittings and agreed position. We explain any outstanding parts or fixing requirements. Whether and how the furniture can be anchored depends on the supporting wall and the product instructions.
