Dragging sliders and damaged tracks
External sliding-door repair concerns the glass panel, rollers, track and compatible handles, latches and other hardware. A heavy patio door that drags needs assessment of both the moving panel and the surface it runs on.
Roller replacement may retain a serviceable door, but panel condition, track wear, safe handling and compatible parts determine the scope and cost. We distinguish adjustment, hardware replacement and track work in the written quote.
For a jammed apartment balcony door, explain whether the glass panel or insect screen is stuck and confirm access and property approval. Do not lift a heavy glass panel out to photograph its rollers; photos are optional.
Several causes of drag
Worn rollers, debris, distorted tracks and poor alignment can all make a slider hard to move. More than one fault may be present. Repeatedly forcing the panel can worsen damage; the panel and track need assessment together.
Retain or replace the track
A track does not always need complete replacement. Its shape, wear, damage and compatibility with the panel determine whether adjustment or a local repair is practical. New rollers will not correct a seriously damaged running surface.
