Sticking sashes and worn hardware
We repair aluminium, uPVC, timber and steel-framed windows, including their operating hardware. Timber window and frame repairs can address sticking sashes, loose stays, compatible hardware and local sill damage. Tell us whether the damage affects the sill, frame joints or hardware fixing points. The repair method depends on the frame material and extent of damage. Glass replacement and installation of a complete window are assessed as separate scopes.
Local frame and sill repairs
A rotten sill needs its extent and moisture source checked before a local repair is recommended. We consider sound surrounding timber and window operation; extensive decay or unsuitable hardware can change the replacement decision.
An old timber window that swells after rain needs its weather pattern recorded. A loose stay needs the fitting and fixing material checked. Describe both faults without climbing outside or forcing the sash to prepare an enquiry.
Recurring timber swelling
Moisture entry, deteriorated coatings and limited clearance can contribute to recurring window swelling. The water source and timber condition matter as much as alignment. Repeated sanding or painting alone may leave the underlying moisture problem unresolved.

Timber and glazing scopes
Sticking hardware or local timber defects need window or carpentry assessment. Broken, loose or unsuitable glass requires glazing assessment, and major frame changes have a separate installation scope. We identify the appropriate personnel from the actual fault.
