What we check on site
Pet damage, remeshing and bent frames
Cat-scratched window mesh and torn screen-door mesh before a rental inspection can be listed together. Identify which openings are damaged and any bent corners. Confirm permission for rental repairs and leave difficult screens in place for assessment.
Insect protection and security
An insect screen keeps insects out; it does not establish resistance to forced entry. Security screens are complete product systems with their own mesh, frames, hardware and installation requirements. Changing insect mesh does not turn it into a security product.
Screens on upper levels or difficult external openings require safe access; security-screen work may have product-specific installation requirements.

Flyscreen Repairs
Flyscreen Replacement: Mesh, Frame or Complete Screen?
Flyscreen replacement does not always mean a whole new screen. If the frame, corners and retaining channel are sound, replacement mesh may suit the job. A distorted frame, broken corners or incompatible fittings can need a replacement frame or complete unit instead. We measure the opening and check the way it is retained before quoting.
Tell us which windows or doors are affected and whether they are fixed, hinged or sliding screens. The scope identifies mesh, reused parts, replacement hardware and removal. Our photographed remeshing example shows insect-screen work, not glass roller repair or security-screen certification.
Is replacement insect mesh a security-screen upgrade?
No. Insect-screen replacement does not establish security performance or a security licence. Security products need separate confirmation of their product and qualified-work requirements. A dragging glass panel goes to sliding-door repairs.
Made-to-measure window flyscreens
A made-to-measure insect screen is a different scope from remeshing an existing frame. We check the opening, frame profile and retaining method so the screen suits the window and its operation. Tell us which windows need new screens and whether existing frames can be reused; photos and approximate measurements are optional.
Repair or replace damaged frames, corners, rollers and handles
Measure and fit screens for compatible windows or doors
Can you replace torn mesh without replacing the frame?
Yes, where the existing frame and fittings are suitable for reuse. We check the frame, corners, mesh-retaining spline and fit before recommending remeshing or a replacement screen. An ordinary insect screen is not a security screen; remeshing does not upgrade its security performance.
What can you do about a flyscreen door that drags or will not close?
We check the screen-door rollers, track, frame and handles to identify what is stopping it moving or closing properly. Adjustment, replacement hardware or frame repair depends on the condition we find. A heavy glass sliding door is a different job: tell us whether the problem affects the insect screen or the glass door.
Can you fit screens to windows as well as doors?
We measure the opening and check how the screen attaches before confirming a suitable fit. Fixed window screens, hinged doors and sliding screen panels have different fittings. Tell us which openings need attention and whether you want to repair existing screens or fit new ones.
Which mesh should I choose for pets or a coastal home?
Choose from materials compatible with the screen design. Tell us about pets, exposure and your preferred mesh at the assessment. An insect screen is not a security screen; security hardware needs its own scope check. For a dragging heavy glass panel, see sliding-door roller and track repair advice.
What affects the cost of flyscreen repairs?
The number and size of screens, mesh choice, reusable frames, replacement hardware and access all affect the work. We assess the screens on site and provide a written quote. You can ask us to assess several damaged screens together, including before a rental inspection.
Do I need measurements or photos for flyscreen repairs?
No. Tell us which screen is damaged and your suburb, and we can arrange an on-site assessment. Existing photos or approximate measurements are optional. You do not need to remove a screen or reach a difficult opening to prepare a request.
How is an insect screen different from a security screen?
An insect screen is intended for insect protection. Security performance depends on the complete product and its installation. We treat security-screen work as a separate scope; ordinary remeshing does not certify or upgrade security performance.
Can a bent flyscreen frame be repaired?
It depends on the distortion, corners and retaining channel. We check whether the frame can hold mesh and fit the opening properly. Remeshing alone is unsuitable when the damaged frame cannot be reused.
Can you quote for cat-damaged flyscreens before a rental inspection?
Yes. Count the damaged screens and tell us whether the frame is bent or only the mesh is torn. For a rental, confirm who can approve the work and provide access. We assess replacement mesh and fitting; completion timing is confirmed with you, not assumed from the inspection date.
